Richard Falk
A professor of international law, at Princeton, who has also served at the U.N. as Special Rapporteur on the human rights in the Palestinian territories. Despite his Jewish heritage, he does not hold back in being critical of Israeli’s policies, which, as per him, essentially amount to war crimes, and violations of international law.
He provides insightful context on the deceptive roles played by the media, particularly emphasizing the U.S. media’s complicity in misrepresenting the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In his foreword to “Obstacle to Peace,” and further elaborated in his book “Israel-Palestine, on record: How the New York Times Misreports Conflict in the Middle East,” Falk argues that the diplomacy spearheaded by the U.S. has not only failed to ameliorate the situation but has, in reality, exacerbated it.
Falk has offered a compelling critique of both the Oslo Peace Process and the biased reporting by prominent U.S. media outlets, highlighting how these narratives have served to undermine genuine efforts towards achieving peace and justice in the region.
