Iris Hefets
Iris Hefets is an Israeli born, German activist and author. She is known for her work promoting peace and understanding between Israelis and Palestinians.
She co-founded the organization “Breaking the Silence” in 2004, which publishes accounts from Israeli soldiers about their experiences serving in the Palestinian territories, with the aim of exposing the reality of the occupation to the Israeli public. Hefets has written books, including “Voices of the New Generation of Israelis” published in German in 2008, featuring interviews with young Israelis who refuse to serve in the occupied territories.She regularly writes articles and gives lectures advocating for ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and achieving a just peace between Israelis and Palestinians.
