David Miller
David Miller is a British political theorist, academic, and activist known for his critical stance on Zionism and his advocacy for Palestinian rights. He is a professor of political sociology at the University of Bristol and has published extensively on topics related to power, democracy, political ideology, islamophobia, and propaganda. Miller has criticized the influence of Zionist organizations in the United Kingdom and other Western countries, arguing that they have sought to suppress criticism of Israel and to conflate anti-Zionism with antisemitism. Miller’s criticism of Zionism is based on a commitment to human rights and anti-racism, and that it is important to distinguish between criticism of Israel and its policies and hatred or discrimination against Jewish people.
The weaponization of antisemitism in many cases not only used to demonize its opponents, but also insidiously used to promote islamophobia. Professor David Miller speaks on this extensively, which has led Pro-Israeli groups to unfairly attack him.
In 20024, upon review by an employment tribunal, it was found that Miller was unfairly dismissed from the University of Bristol for his anti-Zionist views. This has served as an opportunity to challenge institutions which have curbed free-speech under the guise of antisemitism.
